Bees and honey

Honeycomb
This week Nikau-Jarrah brought in a honeycomb from his grandparent's garden. We all had our own stick to dip in the runny honey. Some of us tasted the honey - it was sweet, sticky and delicious. Of course, we talked about bees and beehives and stings.

We repeated the beehive action rhyme:
Here is the beehive. Where are the bees?
(hold up fist)
Hidden away where nobody sees.
(move other hand around fist)
Watch and you’ll see them come out of the hive
(bend head close to fist)
One, two, three, four, five.
(hold fingers up one at a time)
Bzzzzzzzz… all fly away!
(wave fingers)
