As we walked around the corner into Wiri Central School we were called in by a young student's karanga (call). Speeches and waiata (songs) followed. Then all the Ahuroa children came up to shake hands (hariru) and hongi.
Later we were given performances from a range of cultural groups with beautiful and inspiring singing and dancing.
